Dear Gallaudet community:
We continue to monitor information on the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, and in line with the guiding principles shared by President Cordano in her message of March 10 (“Statement on COVID-19 from President Cordano”) as well as the overarching principle of “do no harm,” we are announcing that all teaching and learning will continue to be conducted remotely for the entire duration of Summer 2020.
From May 16 through August 21, Gallaudet University will deliver all classes remotely.
This decision is intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community to the greatest extent possible, and is aligned with the recent stay-at-home orders issued by the states of Maryland and Virginia and the District of Columbia.
More information will be forthcoming soon, including information regarding resources to support faculty as they redesign their courses for fully remote instruction if their courses are not already fully online.
For additional information and answers to frequently asked questions, please continue to consult https://coronavirus.
As the past several weeks have demonstrated, we are a resilient, innovative, and close-knit community, committed to ensuring academic quality and continuity for our students. By working together in the context of our shared values, we will pull through this challenging time together.
