Gallaudet University is continuing to closely monitor the coronavirus (COVID–19) situation

In addition to the policies and guidance below, please note that further guidance for specific programs and areas is being developed and will be distributed throughout the week and/or posted on this website.

Gallaudet University is continuing to closely monitor the coronavirus (COVID–19) situation, and we are in regular contact with local and state health officials. We are also monitoring the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and relevant authorities closely.

No one in the Gallaudet community has tested positive for COVID-19. We are working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and with DC Health, the District of Columbia health agency. We are following all CDC protocols for patients, and for any staff and medical students who may have been impacted. Your health and safety is our top priority.

Please know this is a very fluid, fast-moving situation, and information is being updated daily, and sometimes hourly. We are prepared to take all the proper precautions to protect our community and make sure everyone feels safe. In response to the continued spread of COVID-19, we are enacting new policies and practices based on the concept of social distancing. The goal is to decrease the number of situations that require community members to gather in large groups and to minimize the time spent in close proximity with each other.
